Bill Haydt to Present ASCE 2-Day Virtual Workshop on “How to Price and Document Your Delay Claims.”

May 12, 2021

On December 14th and 16th, 2021, Bill Haydt will present an ASCE 2-day Virtual Workshop.

On Day 1 of the Workshop, Bill will give participants the tools they need to determine the true costs of delays for a construction project. In some cases, these costs are straight forward, easily recognized, and easily calculated; however, these costs can sometimes be complicated to determine. Bill will discuss basic concepts, with case studies and real examples, to allow attendees to see how these concepts are actually applied. Attendees will also be provided with real-life, take-home problems to put what they learned to the test.

On Day 2 of the Workshop, Bill will review the skills learned on Day 1, go over the take-home problems, and then turn the course’s attention to the documentation required to demonstrate the claims made in the take-home problems. Bill will describe in detail why the contemporaneous documentation that is created during the life of a construction project is so important. Bill will present the various ways to document and preserve what occurs during the course of a project, as well as provide suggestions for making this documentation more fact-focused and effective. Bill will also discuss how effective communication and documentation can increase the likelihood of resolving issues in a timely manner, without resorting to litigation.
